About

AmandaMuses.com began in March of 2007 as a digital sketchbook for the incongruous leftovers from studio explorations and my day job at the time. The idea stemmed from the advice of David Carson who upon seeing my empty new sketchbook, urged me to “fill in these pages.” The next week, I began AmandaMuses to challenge myself to generate more concepts, sketches and ideas; to explore.

Today, the site remains as a sort of digital sketchbook for miscellaneous thoughts, concepts in various stages of exploration, and references to the work of others whom I admire. It is a work in progress and will continue to evolve as I play, learn and discover.

In my professional life, I am an award-winning graphic designer who brings in-depth branding insight and a user-centered approach to design. I have played an important role in the definition and implementation of graphic standards for a range of organizations including small and independent businesses, medical consultancies, corporate design firms and private universities.
