For some reason, today I decided to start sorting and moving old files from a local drive to a backup. And since I am the visual sort, it is inevitable that I end up looking through folder after folder of old images. This will probably mean a flurry of posts featuring some of what I found while sorting. Here’s one for instance:
The style of today’s daily D’Art (seemingly quickly rendered and almost like an old snapshot from the 19th century) reminds me of a wonderful exhibit I saw last year at the Phillips Collection. The show featured a mix of finished paintings and photographic studies, sketches and drawings of the post-impressionists who rendered them.

Maybe it’s a little silly, but this style image often reminds me of Roger Fenton’s photos from the Crimean War.
