We’ve been expe­ri­enc­ing record break­ing high tem­per­a­tures… which is actu­ally nice–the streets aren’t too crowded and every­one slows down. The other pleas­ant side effect is the inevitable thun­der­storms that roll in after the heat wave…

It’s been a rainy, some­what reluc­tant spring, weather-wise. Today was no excep­tion, com­plete with tor­nado and flash flood warn­ings.. most other days are moody, stormy morn­ings with sunny after­noons and stormy nights. The cloudy skies have been beau­ti­ful though.

This past week­end brought the first peonies of the sea­son though, which always puts a mas­sive smile on my face:

I guess we’re all hope­less roman­tics at heart… Happy (early) Valen­tines Day, folks.

Today has been a grab bag of strange weather with an evening of thun­der snow, sleet and freez­ing rain.. it’s snow­ing like no one’s busi­ness at the moment…

Even so, it’s lovely. Hope you’re stay­ing warm wher­ever you are, dear readers…

I met one of my new-ish neigh­bors a few weeks ago… He’s very nice, but rather secre­tive… and told me later that he’s in the wit­ness pro­tec­tion program…

Another some­thing I tripped over the other day on my walk…

The other day I went for a walk after work.… the sink­ing sun felt good on my skin.

Some­times when pro­cess­ing images, I find ran­dom shots which seem the result of occa­sional, acci­den­tal shut­ter bumps. Do you ever do that? When deal­ing with film the occa­sional, acci­den­tal shot used to drive me NUTS, but with dig­i­tal I could care less and am often amused by the result regard­less of whether it “works” or not. Here’s one I just found this weekend:

It doesn’t mat­ter whether you won or lost.… just that you tried your best. So just keep try­ing.

Four years ago today, I ended the day on Look­out Moun­tain for a photo shoot with a few cowork­ers. It was a long, long day but the sun­set was lovely and din­ner delicious!
